Good location, near tube station and close to all major archaeological sites
-
Min walk to the big train station that can take you to the big ferry port for example, close to square and in the heart of the city. The hotel was clean
-
The location is excellent - major sites are walkable and it's very near Monistiraki metro so very easily accessible from the airport. It's on a busy road but still quiet. Overall it is perfect for a sight-seeing trip for a couple of days which is what we wanted.
-
Great location in safe area near a main metro stop.
-
Hotel Cecil was a little Oasis in some hot days in Athens. It was so close to everything that we could retreat after a morning of sight seeing, then shower up and walk into the cooler late afternoon and beautiful evening. The staff was extremely helpful with lost luggage that didn't make it to Athens with us, and in making recommendations for dinner. I loved the very clean room and cool, crisp sheets.
-
We liked very much the staff. They were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nice, especially the triple..
The bathroom in the dabble was very very small. The worst part was the breakfast - very poor and not esthetically served
-
Location near the Plaka and city center
Chemical orange "juice" at breakfast, lack of fruit ( with proximite of local market where fruit are availiable at cheap prices )
-
The staff amazing! La gente del hotel son maravillosos! Very nice people and the rooms are decent sized. Everything worked good. Location is great because it was right by the monastariki square where there was live music and a lot of restaurants!
The beds not so comfy but that didn't bother me. We were told by taxis the area was not so safe, but we didnt see anything and nothing happened.
-
Location is great. In the main street so it's safe. 5 mins walk from metro. Easy to go to airport. Staff is helpful and kind. Room is clean with breakfast included. Recommend to stay here.
-
Great staff and a comfortable hotel to unwind from the city. The hotel feels very safe even in an urban area known for pickpocketers. The common areas are spacoius and comfortable. Good breakfast. They put us in a rooftop room with terrific views of the acropolis and plenty of privacy. The staff also arranged our early morning travel and made us coffee even though it was too early for breakfast. All around excellent experience for 70 euro a night.
I got a lot of mosquito and bug bites while staying there. Maybe some screens on the windows would help?
-
Location convenience ... near Acropolis & public transportation / taxis. Modest price & okay deal for the price.
No lobby, small rooms (tiny bathrooms).
-
We enjoyed our room at te roof. The sight at the acropolis was great en going to the top of the room to enter our room felt very romantic. The authentic elevator was also very nice. The staf at the reception were very friendly and helpfull!
The breakfast was ok, but simple.
-
The hotel staff were extremely helpful in (I) advising what time tourist attractions close for the day; (ii) which is the best way to get to the tourist attractions; (iii) having breakfast ready for us at 05:30 am; (iv) arranging a taxis for us for a very early pick-up; (vii) wake up call. Previous hotels were not willing to give an early breakfast! The hotel is perfectly situated for getting around (walking to everything) - it is a block and a half from the Monastaraki Metro Station, 2 blocks from the hub of activity and Plaka etc..... excellent location
The only "fault" we could find with the hotel was that the bathrooms are very poky (small) - although the rooms too very very small they were comfortable - we were only staying one night and did not spend any time in the room. If it were for a long stay and the travellers wanted to stay in the room, not move about the city - it would be too small.
-
Its good place for a status of a budget hotel. Location is very good. Eventhough it is near to the Omnia square, its a safe place..just dont go around in to the secluded area by yourself in the Omnia square area. Other place such as Ermou street, psiri and other nearer place is safe to travel alone. If you spent most of the time in the city and back to Hotel for sleep, there is no much to complain on the other facility that the hotel doesnt provide.
Only basic breakfast, but it is ok for me but if the hotel has the roof top dining or breakfast place it would be better.

The location is great for exploring the historical landarks of the city. Easily accesible by metro from the airport and port
Bathrooms are tiny!
